Information Technology History and our Company
ComtekMedia began services in the Information Technology and Media in the 1980' when
coorporate computers systems and servers were still in the form of mainframe UNIX platform,
physically humongous equipment that each unit could easily occupy a whole office floor;
COBOL, FORTRAN and BASIC ruled.
This was even before Apple introduced Apple 2e
personal computer with the first mouse, any mid-range mini computers and other IBM
compatibles, PC clones. Primitive desktop publishing projects were produced with a laser
printer, preceding the softwares by Adobe, QuarkExpress and Postscript fonts, negative film
color separation or digital direct printing.
When the Internet was "re-born"
to avail itself to the public, one of our company internal departments became a small
Internet Service Provider (ISP). Before Southwestern Bell, ATT, all the ISPs were
small in San Antonio, for large bandwidth, we had to makeshift by bundling a lot of
individual analog modems (less than 56K each) to make them function as a
(digital) network modem, CISCO did not exist yet in the router and switch business
then, no fiber optics; and initially Microsoft missed out on the first wave of Netscape web
browser!
Our team members had envisioned since then that the Information
Technology and Media would make all the companies, large or small, to change the way to
conduct their business; and buyers and public consumers would behave differently with their
spendable dollars.
Put our team members with active pro-business life long diversed
experience, qualifications and expertise to work for your company.
We have seen the
failure and success stories of different companies in an ever chaging business environment;
so what Information Technology and Media work for you?
